This makes me highly suspect that Zakir couldn’t be a scholar because his intellectual strength is almost non-existent, as this point proves because he did not understand such a simple question from Nazim.

Or maybe this is the danger of bringing foreigners to preach in Maldives. They don’t understand the Maldivian mentality and of course they don’t even understand how Nazim framed the question — as an Atheist who is searching for the Truth.

Even if Zakir doesn’t believe in Evolution, couldn’t he have at least answered Nazim’s original question: “Give me a reason why I should read Quran in the first place.”

What Nazim means obviously is, something like, “There are a billion websites which come up on Google. Can you narrow me down which sites are useful and which are not, giving me some reasons why you think this site is worth my time and that site is not?”

People who fail to understand Nazim is not Maldivian at all!
