Rejected, yet unconvinced?

If there is a single lesson that Gayyom should have had learned from the last presidential election is that the Maldivians have rejected him. Beyond any and every doubt, Maldivians have said NO to Gayyom. Maldivians have labeled him a dictator, and rejected him for the good of this country and its people. When they, the Maldivians, were given the choice they accepted that Gayyom is an iron-fisted, ruthless autocrat, who did nothing but lied and lied and lied for thirty years, and they chose freedom and democracy. The false promises he made, the tortures, the killing, these things, the Maldivians will never forget. How he kept his gang faithful to him by providing them with millions and millions in cash, and remained inconsiderate while the poor suffered!

Now that the parliament election is around the corner, I wonder what the old man is still trying to achieve. I can’t even imagine why he thinks that people would vote his gang to make the laws, regulations and rules of this country. The main reason why people forsaken him is because he was not able to protect the Maldives and its people. Gayyom turned this country into a horrific place, the youth into drug addicts, rapists, child molesters, alcoholics, and worse! Why? Because he was selfish, he prioritized his needs over the needs of the people of this country.

The one and only reason DRP candidates are contesting in the upcoming parliament election is for no other reason but for revenge. Just because Gayyom could not sleep at nights, because he can’t breathe comfortably knowing that he is no more! He is no more loved by people; he is no more respected by the people. For the people he was and he will remain a ruthless dictator. Obviously thirty years of power and richness would surely have left the old man craving for more and more power. But sorry Gayyom, the days are over, and those days will never return.

The Maldivians will not give another chance for torture. Gayyom is now history, Maldives is writing new chapters in the book of history. Its people have had suffered enough, the poor life is about to be archived. Maldives is moving forward towards a happy future with a new president and a new leadership. Today its people are happier then before, merrier then ever. There is no room for dictators or former dictators. Perhaps there is some space left at jails if they would want to spend some time there.

May be Gayyom and his gang could get 60 or 70 chairs from RKL rentals, but not from the Majlis floor. Maldivians want educated and well respected people as the members of the parliament. Not Thasmeen and his family and neither the Gayyom worshipers who are craving for power for revenge, to torture more, to make this country poor. No, there is no chance for that, not anymore.
