Change of official working hours

I have read on Haveeru online, three articles written by Hamdhoon, Idrees and Yoosuf on three consecutive days from 25th January. What they had tried, in my understanding, is to promote their way of thinking on the changes made by the government on official working hours. It seems that their basic idea is to feed the readers with negative ideas and thoughts on the new end time. Reading the articles written by the three mentioned, makes one feel that every government employee holds a part time job and leaves office at 2:30 to give time for the part time job. Also these writers blamed the government for not making enough research on the issue before changing the hours.

Unfortunately, it seems that it is these writers who lack information on the current processing of government offices. Maybe they do not understand that the majority of the employees leave office only at around 4:30 or 5:00. And then again come back to office at night as well. The processes and procedures are not systematic enough. Currently there are no official break-hours. One would go out of office as much as they want, for coffee breaks, drop kids to school, wife needs a ride etc.

With the changes to be implemented from 1st of February these issues are gradually going to disappear. The government offices will become more systematic. The employees will have to follow official rules and regulations. The feeling of a real government will come into place. Employees will opt out from the lazy/careless style and adapt to a more hardworking environment.

Independent of the propagandas by Haveeru writers, and the ‘new government’ haters, the changes in official hours will not be reverted back to as it was before. This will be implemented, and people will be merrier then ever. This current government, elected by the people is a government for the people. What ever decision they make, what ever changes they bring, it will be brought after much thinking and much consultation, and for the benefit of the people of this country. Just because a few people might be in disadvantage does not mean that the decision is incorrect, or that the decision is baseless! Or just because a decision is not aligned to ones way of thinking does not make the decision horrific.

  • Yeah, it is high-time that we got these government offices actually working. As it is these days, the private sector hardly gets a satisfactory response to their needs from almost all government agencies.

Thadu, i agree with you. Rejecting changes that are followed by the world is not the right decision. Rather adapting to the changes is the better way.
