Congratulations and thanks for endorsing Anni’s candidacy. Like the majority of the Maldivians, I believe that the three of you have taken the wisest decision in order to bring a pure democracy to the Maldives. Now that Jumhooree Party, Adhaalath Party, MNC, SLP and Dr.Hassan are backing Anni, the chance for Maumoon to win the election is very low. However what these parties should know is that there is a lot of work to be done in order to oust Golhaa!
First and foremost is to let their supporters know and understand that it is vital to oust Golhaa if Maldives is to see a democracy in the next five years. With Golhaa in power, there is no way Maldives will experience the sweetness of a democracy. If Golhaa wins, it will be the same old ‘family and friend’s first’ ruling system that will remain. The poor and underprivileged will remain the same, and the malady of drug will never come to an end! Perhaps this iniquity might move to new heights with him in power! Beware!
What you all have shown is an exemplary act of unity, and unity alone is the best tool against Golhaa at the moment. As a fellow Maldivian who wants a change for the amelioration of this country, I request all the Maldivians to unite against the dictator and his regime. On the second round of voting, we should not let Golhaa secure even a 40% of the votes. My dream is more like 15.3 + 16.8 + 25.1 + 0.8 + 1.4 + (25.6) > (40.6 – 25.6). In words, less then 20% to Golhaa and more then 80% to Anni!
If we work optimistically and united there is no reason why we could not get back what Golhaa took in the first round. Be united, think united and VOTE ANNI TO OUST DICTATOR MAUMOON ABDUL GAYYOOM from power.

there were many mistakes made in the first round..
1)The opposition spent time attacking each other instead of uniting to attack Maumoon . even if they all again form or coalition it wont change the fear and mistrust they have ignited against one onether ( temple flower or hate against Adduans, Christianity etc etc), wont suddenly fade away from peoples minds.
2)Many people who voted for gasim did so because they were the benefactors of his philanthropic medical and educational deeds, who would otherwise vote for Maumoon. these people wont vote for anni in the second round.
3) a Hassan Saeed & Anni ticket would have more chance, they each make up for the others deficiencies, and both were the leaders of the reform movement. But such a ticket is impossible now.

I was supporting Yameen before, because I thought he had the guts to separate from his brother and join the educated and the young people who were willing to give him a second chance, but the fact he joined DRP again, is the best alternative for him, but a slap on the face for the young and educated who were willing to support him. Like Gayoom, Yameen will end his political career now. If they win, the people will challenge them on the streets, until they are done and gone.
This is the best chance to change the government through a ballot box. But this is not going to be easy. Gayoom will play dirty, cheat in every way he is can think of. Mohamed Nasheed has been a strong symbolic force behind the democratic reforms in the country .I am happy that others has endorsed him in the fight for freedom and democracy following his success to go for a secound round in the countrys first multiparty election.a unified oppositon is absolutely vital for ousting a brutal dictator who has stayed 30 years in power and who is planning to go for another 5 to 10 years,making a family I would like the new government to start humanities after 13 years of its suspension and establish an Institute of Political Science in the Maldives immediately.I would like to see my children learn about heros like Anni and Qasim who spend all their wealth , time and resourcess in the fight for democracy.
